MecaNano Pitching Event & Round Table on Machine Learning Applications

The MecaNano Pitching Event and Round Table on Machine Learning Applications, organized by WG4, will take place online via Zoom on Friday, 12 December 2025, from 10:00 to 15:00 (Europe/Vienna).
Convened by Claus Trost (Erich Schmid Institute, Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Edoardo Rossi (Università degli Studi Roma Tre), the event provides an interactive platform to exchange ideas and explore emerging synergies across the MecaNano working groups.
The morning session will feature short pitching presentations (3–5 minutes each) introducing innovative research ideas, data initiatives, or machine learning methodologies applied to nanoscale mechanics.
The afternoon session will include a Round Table discussion fostering open dialogue on shared challenges, data integration, and opportunities for future collaboration.
The event is open to participants from WG1, WG2, and WG3, and welcomes both experienced and non-expert contributors interested in applying or exploring machine learning concepts. Participants are encouraged to present ideas, even at an early stage, that could benefit from data-driven or cross-disciplinary perspectives.
Abstract submission is open until 1 December 2025 via the official event page: https://indico.global/event/15731/
