MecaNano Pitching Event & Round Table on Machine Learning Applications

- Are you interested in applying machine learning to your research but don’t know how to get started?
- Are you just starting machine learning and need advice?
- Are you curious if machine learning could be applied to your research question?
If yes is the answer to any of these questions, then you should apply for the online MecaNano Pitching and Round Table on Machine Learning Applications being organized by WG4 on Dec. 12 2025 from 10:00 to 15:00 (CET)
The morning session will feature short pitching presentations (3–5 minutes each) for anyone from the curious, beginners, and more experienced persons to introduce their ideas or research questions, crazy or not, where machine learning could be applied. To introduce your ideas and questions, please apply with a short abstract of about 150 words by Dec. 1st at the link: https://indico.global/event/15731/
The event is open to participants from WG1, WG2, and WG3, and welcomes both experienced and non-expert contributors interested in applying or exploring machine learning concepts. Participants are encouraged to present ideas, even at an early stage, that could benefit from data-driven or cross-disciplinary perspectives during the Pitching session. The afternoon session will include a Round Table discussion fostering open dialogue on shared challenges, data integration, and opportunities for future collaboration.
All interested in learning and applying machine learning – AT ANY LEVEL – are highly encouraged to apply to pitch your idea for direct and immediate feedback and/or collaboration partners from MecaNano.
Abstract submission (only 150 words) is open until 1 December 2025 via the official event page: https://indico.global/event/15731/
Convened by Claus Trost (Erich Schmid Institute, Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Edoardo Rossi (Università degli Studi Roma Tre), the event provides an interactive platform to exchange ideas and explore emerging synergies across the MecaNano working groups.
