Workshops

Workshops are the backbone of the Action. They gather Members around a common topic of interest, e.g. to communicate and plan new advances in the field. Workshops take different forms (e.g. podium discussion, oral presentations, hands-on training workshop, poster presentations, networking events). The Action encourages on-site meetings at Members institutions, since these venues offer the highest networking potential, e.g. with lab tours and demonstrations of experimental or simulation techniques of interest.

The Management Committee (MC) pays attention to spread these WS across the ERA, especially ITC. Industrial partners will be invited to join these WS.

Please apply to a working group to follow the news and contact the working groups’ leaders to organize one.

WG3 online series 2026

Structuring research data in materials science: from metadata to knowledge This online series focuses on how structured research data can enable better data integration and reuse in materials science. Starting from the basics of scientific metadata and FAIR data, the sessions move toward ontologies, knowledge graphs, and emerging approaches using large language models (LLMs) to ... Read more
