SUMMARY:MecaNano session at COMPLAS 2025 on Nanoscale Origins of Plasticity in Modern Nanostructured Materials
DESCRIPTION:A COST MecaNano minisymposia entitled “Nanoscale Origins of Plasticity in Modern Nanostructured Materials” will be organized by J. Guénolé (LEM3\, CNRS\, France)\, J. Amodeo (IM2NP\, CNRS\, France)\, D. Mordehai (Technion\, Israel) and V. Taupin (LEM3\, CNRS\, France) during COMPLAS 2025\, Barcelona. Please visit the conference website for more information. Conference will takes place at Barcelona\, Spain\, September 2-5\, 2025. Please visit https://complas2025.cimne.com/ for abstract submission and registration. Submission deadline is March\, 1st. \n\n\nIn the spirit of MecaNano COST Action (https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA21121)\, this Minisymposia aims at illuminating the challenges in modelling plasticity in modern nanostructured materials\, and in particular:\n– Identify and understand size effects and characteristic length scales\,\n– Discuss simulation challenges to promote the use of the most effective (robustness\, highest throughput) techniques.\nSimulation technics of interest include\, but are not limited to:\n– Atomistic (Ab initio and classical potential)\,\n– Continuum/Discrete Dislocation Dynamics\,\n– Phase field\, FFT-based approaches\n– Multiscale approaches\,\n– Machine learning / data-driven approaches.\n\nMore details can be found online: https://complas2025.cimne.com/event/area/3424d339-907e-11ef-b344-000c29ddfc0c\n\nThanks to the support of the MecaNano COST Action network\, financial support (registration\, travel\, etc.) can be provided to successful applicants at this Minisymposium.\nEligible applicant are from COST member countries: more specifically for Integration Target Countries (ITC) and for Young Researchers and Innovators (YRI).\nThe call Conference Grants will soon open on the MecaNano website: https://mecanano.com/\n\nThe abstract submission deadline is on March\, 1st\, 2025 but feel free to contact us for any information or if you plan to participate to this MS.\n\nWe are looking forward to seeing you in Barcelona!

SUMMARY:2nd MecaNano Workshop on Machine Learning for Micro- and Nano-Mechanics
DESCRIPTION:The 2nd MecaNano Workshop on Machine Learning for Micro- and Nano-Mechanics will take place on September 4–5\, 2025\, at ELTE Eötvös Loránd University\, Faculty of Science\, Budapest. Following the success of the first edition\, this workshop continues to explore the integration of machine learning techniques in small-scale mechanical testing and materials science\, with a focus on real-world applications and research challenges. \nScope\nThe workshop will feature invited talks from leading experts and foster discussions on how machine learning can enhance mechanical characterization\, predictive modeling\, and materials discovery. Topics will include\, but are not limited to: \n\nMachine learning for nanoindentation and mechanical characterization\nUncertainty quantification and data-driven modeling\nMultiscale simulations in materials science\nAI-driven materials discovery and design\n\nThis workshop is open to researchers at all levels\, from those already applying machine learning to materials mechanics to those looking for new approaches to analyze experimental and simulation data. It will provide a platform for knowledge exchange\, discussion of emerging methodologies\, and exploration of new research directions at the interface of machine learning and micro- and nano-mechanics. \nAbstract Submission\nAbstracts are now open trough: https://mecanano-wg4-25.sciencesconf.org/. \nAddress\nPázmány Péter sétány 1/A\, 1117 Budapest\, Hungary

SUMMARY:MecaNano at Euromat 2025
DESCRIPTION:A session “D3 – Mechanics characterization and modelling” will be organised at Euromat 2025\, by Benoit Merle\, Verena Maier-Kiener\, Maciej Szczerba andAndre Clausner . Don’t hesitate to submit an abstract! The conference will take place in Granada\, September 14-18th 2025. \nWe would love you\, your coworkers\, and your students to submit abstracts on basically any topic encompassed in MecaNano. The extended deadline to submit is February 16\, so don’t miss out! \nWe also would like to highlight our poster session. It is a fantastic way for young researchers to gain a foothold in such an international conference and explore new ideas and collaborations. \nYou can find all the details about abstract submissions here: https://euromat2025.com/d-characterization-modeling-and-artificial-intelligence/#d-3-mechanics-characterization-and-modelling \nWe can’t wait to welcome you under the sunny skies of Andalusia—let’s make this symposium an unforgettable one! \nPlease upload the flyer for more info: Flyer Euromat 2025 Symposium D3
